And then there was nothing but air. Shards on the floor and puzzled looks in the audience. It wasn't supposed to go like that. Still, it happened again… Oh well! In this spirit, world record holder and artistic whistler Sirus Madjderey and pianist Anna Hlavka present the history of artistic whistling from its origins to the present day. A journey to the beginnings of the art of whistling, its heyday, and the question of what has actually become of it. Back then, it was a respected art form that thrilled audiences in vaudeville shows and on big stages. Today, it's more of a baffling curiosity. That needs to change: we need to whistle more! And so several questions arise, which this show explores in an entertaining, absurd, and above all clever way, interspersed with occasional magic tricks: What's the deal with all those proverbs about whistling? To mark the 260th anniversary of the Vienna Prater, we welcome Werner Michael Schwarz and Susanne Winkler from the Wien Museum to our artists' Stammtisch at the Circus & Clown Museum Vienna. The two curators of the Pratermuseum will take us on a journey through the history of the Prater – from its beginnings as a public recreational and entertainment space to its development as a unique stage for entertainment, showmanship and technical innovation. They will also offer insights into the collection and the new Pratermuseum, which opened in 2024 right in the heart of the Wurstelprater. Look forward to an evening full of exciting stories and discoveries centered around a place that has delighted the people of Vienna for centuries.

The harmonica has always been a favourite instrument for variety shows and clowns. Due to its size, it could be built into walking sticks and other props to amaze the audience. There were also wonderful instruments such as harmonicas with horns or bells that could be struck along with the melody. The magician Anton Kratky-Baschik was the first virtuoso on the instrument and laid the groundwork for making it socially acceptable. Experience an exciting musical evening exploring the history and variations of the harmonica. Isabella Krapf will perform for you on extraordinary harmonicas from all over the world and on a concertina.
