Maestro Voronin Visits the Circus- & Clownmuseum Wien
On May 31, Ukrainian illusionist and comedy magician Evgeniy Voronin visited the Circus- & Clownmuseum Wien together with French magician and choreographer Aurore Mourgues. Both took time for a tour of the exhibition and the archive; Christoph Enzinger guided them through selected pieces of circus history, variety culture and magic in Vienna.

Voronin is currently engaged as one of the main acts at Magic World Vienna in the Vienna Prater. There he performs in the "Magic Variety Show" and the Summer Festival, which regularly bring international magicians to Vienna.
The visit to the museum led Voronin and Mourgues through historical programs, posters and costumes of circus and variety culture, including numerous objects relating to Viennese magic. Voronin was particularly interested in the way the museum documents and systematically explores the history of circus, clowning and magic — from early posters and magic manuscripts to stage props.

For the museum, the visit of active stage artists like Voronin and Mourgues is important: the historical circus history thus enters into direct dialogue with the present, and the collection becomes visible as a working archive and source of inspiration for today's productions
